PREVIOUS UPDATES:
We will be doing Volhard testing July 22nd and we will be placing puppies by personality at that time.
Third Week Update: 2021 Spring Litters
It’s week three of puppy culture and the puppies are walking, we have even heard a bark or two. Their eyes are opened and we suspect a few have blue eyes like their mama. This week is all about creating bonds with humans, and learning to walk and play. Lily, my daughter, has been spending all her free time in the puppy pen cuddling all the puppies. Everyone in the family interacts with them and they are bringing us such joy. We also have moved them during the day out of the whelping room to the kitchen to be in the thick of family activities.
We built this puppy play toy, they seem to love it. Lots of different objects to interact with.
As we activate the startle and recovery reflex this week I am dropping books, and pan lids. Last night we took the pups outside at dusk, right as a few of our neighbors were setting off fireworks. The puppies initially were wide eyed and looking around but after about 5 big bangs they stopped caring and decided it was nap time. I’m happy we were able to have this exposure right at 3 weeks when the puppies are not easily frightened.
If you are interested in a puppy from these litters, please fill out an application. We will be doing Volhard testing July 7th and we will be placing puppies by personality at that time.
